Making hip and groin pain in athletes easier to assess, understand and manage.

 

Stefan Podar is a physiotherapist from Vienna, Austria, who completed his undergraduate physiotherapy training in Vienna before undertaking a Master’s degree in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia.

 

He has been working extensively with hip and groin pain in athletes since 2008, supporting more than 400 athletes across a wide range of sports and competitive levels.

 

Stefan has worked with the Austrian national football team and the Austrian national ice hockey team, supporting athletes at an international level, including major tournaments such as the European Championship and Ice Hockey World Championships.

 

His clinical approach focuses on clear clinical reasoning, practical assessment and evidence-informed management, translating research into strategies that can be applied effectively in everyday practice.

 

Through The Groin Physio, Stefan shares his experience and framework for assessing and managing hip and groin pain with clinicians working in sport.
