Physiotherapy is a practical profession. That’s why clinicians seeking to deepen their understanding of hip and groin pain in sport can integrate and refine the concepts from The Groin Playbook in a practical clinical setting.

Online Learning

The five concise modules of The Groin Playbook provide the key theoretical foundations for understanding hip and groin pain in sport.

Each module combines evidence-informed lectures with practical demonstration videos of manual tests and clinical examination techniques, alongside a short quiz to consolidate learning.

The course is fully online and available on demand, allowing you to learn whenever and wherever it suits you.

By completing the online course, participants come to the workshop with a common theoretical foundation, allowing the in-person day to concentrate fully on practical skills instead of reviewing basic theory or anatomy.

Hands-On Clinical Workshop

The workshop begins with a real patient case, allowing participants to immediately apply the clinical framework presented in the online course. Participants are also welcome to bring a patient case by prior arrangement.

From there, the assessment and management framework becomes a practical reality.

We explore how clinical findings inform treatment decisions, including both active rehabilitation strategies and manual techniques — because effective management requires both.

Common clinical presentations of groin pain in athletes and proven management approaches are discussed, and participants practise and refine the manual tests and examination techniques introduced in the online course.

The day is designed to be fully practical — no PowerPoint, just hands-on learning.

Drawing on 16 years of experience working in elite sport (football and ice hockey), the workshop provides a highly practical learning environment supported by current sports medicine evidence.

Because the content requires focus and engagement, the workshop day is structured into:

  • 4 hours in the morning
  • 1 hour lunch break
  • 3 hours in the afternoon

Reflection Session

Research shows that often less than 10% of knowledge gained during professional development courses is integrated into clinical practice.

To address this, the final phase of the course focuses on reflection and consolidation of learning.

During this online session, we revisit the framework through a clinical case example, refresh key concepts and discuss questions or challenges participants have encountered in practice.

This session provides an opportunity to revisit key concepts, clarify questions from clinical practice and further refine the application of the framework.

The session is delivered online, allowing participants to join from anywhere.
If someone is unable to attend the live session, a recording will be made available afterwards.
